Page 3 of 5 15. WITHOUT GRUMBLING AND COMPLAINING. Philippians 2:14,15. "Do all things without murmurings and disputings: That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world."
16. WITHOUT BEING SIDETRACKED. Nehemiah 6:3. Nehemiah had purpose and vision. Nehemiah had a great work to do. However, he had many enemies who tried to stop him in his work, but Nehemiah would not be stopped! On one occasion when they tried to stop him in his work, he replied, "I am doing a great work, so that I cannot come down: why should the work cease, whilst I leave it and come down to you?"
17. WITHOUT WEARYING. Galatians 6:9,10. "And let us not be weary in well doing, for in due season, we shall reap if we faint not." 2 Thessalonians 3:13, "Be not weary in well doing."
18. WITHOUT EXPECTING ANYTHING IN RETURN. Luke 7:7-10 RSV. "When you have done all that is commanded you say, 'We are unworthy servants; we have only done what was our duty."
19. WITHOUT SEEKING RECOGNITION. Ephesians 6:6. "Not with eyeservice, as menpleasers, but as the servants of Christ."
We do our work, not looking to the eyes of man, but the eyes of the Lord. 20. UNTIL THE JOB IS FINISHED.
Let's look at some examples: ZERUBBABEL
Zechariah 4:9. "The hands of Zerubbabel have laid the foundation of this house; his hands shall also finish it."
JESUS
John 4:34, "Jesus saith unto them, my meat is to do the will of Him that sent me, and to finish His work." John 17:4, "I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do."
PAUL Acts 20:28, "None of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy."
2 Timothy 4:7. "I have finished my course."
