The Apostle Paul was not a wimp. Do not even mention the word around him. He finished his course and fought a good fight. His desires were fulfilled. He went to his grave in victory. Paul must have been one of the most diligent of all men in serving his master.

Edward Harriman states, “Much good work is lost for a lack of a little more.” If the songwriter had only spent more time on the good song, it could have gone to the top of the charts. If the artist had only been more diligent, the painting could have made him famous. The same thing could be said of every man in every work of life.

It has been said that every man’s work is a portrait of his life. I am sure that whole libraries of books could not contain the projects of the many things that have been started but never finished. It takes diligence to see a project through. There is reward in giving attention to detail for isn’t this what God does? Think of the little flowers that He so intricately creates.

I am certain that the service that requires the most diligence is the service of the Lord. Jeremiah 48:10 RSV says, “Cursed is he who does the work of the Lord with slackness.”

Hebrews 11:6 is one of my favorite Scriptures. “He is the rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.” The revelation of this truth will definitely change your life. Oh what powerful answers will be received to our earnest prayers. What world-shaking, life-transforming power will be released when God’s people seek Him diligently!

Get ready for the next episode as we continue talking about hard work!
