Page 3 of 4 Christians everywhere would gain a whole lot more respect from their fellow men if they would put these Scriptural injunctions into practice. ►The wimp works by the clock, he can’t wait for the break-time and closing time. ►The wimp never puts his heart into his work for he does not have a heart to work in the first place. ►The wimp will take every opportunity to slacken his pace, either through idle talk, fidgeting or not having his mind on the job. Not so the real man. He believes in an honest day’s pay for an honest day’s work. ►The wimp loves to take sick leave, even if it’s just the sign of a sore throat. Not so the real man. He will stick to his job like a true soldier until his dying breath. ►The wimp is always complaining about adverse conditions. Not so the real man. To him adversity means greater challenges and he loves to solve problems. ►The wimp does not care one scrap about his firm prospering because of his presence. He is only concerned about how little he can do and how much pay he can get. Not so the real man. He wants the firm to prosper because of his presence. Let’s read Joseph’s testimony… Genesis 39:2-6, “The Lord was with Joseph, and he was a successful man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian. And his master saw that the Lord was with him and that the Lord made all he did to prosper in his hand. So Joseph found favour in his sight, and served him. Then he made him overseer of his house, and all that he had he put in his hand. So it was, from the time that he had made him overseer of his house and all that he had, that the Lord blessed the Egyptian’s house for Joseph’s sake; and the blessing of the Lord was on all that he had in he house and in the field. So he left all that he had in Joseph’s hand, and he did not know what he had except for the bread which he ate.” This is what should happen in all our places of employment. What an amazing difference God’s representatives can make in the work place. We must take the Lord with us when we go to work. We must not cheat on the boss’s time in order to witness. No. Your happy, hard work is your best witness.
