Discipline your ears to listen to that which is edifying, profitable and wholesome. Put on the helmet of salvation and resist all negativity, criticism, judgmentalism and worldliness.

Discipline your eyes to look on that which will minister life to your spirit, soul and body.

Discipline your mind to meditate on that which will allow the Holy Spirit to release salvation to your whole life. Read Philippians 4:8.

Discipline your mouth to speak only those things that will minister grace and salvation to the hearers.

e)    Cover your whole life with the shield of faith. Do not doubt God’s Word. Do not question it. Be bold about your trust in God. Lift up your confession of reliance upon Him and His Word.  1 John 5:4 states, “This is the victory that overcomes the world, even our faith.” Speak the word of faith against the fiery darts of the enemy. “The weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds.” (2 Corinthians 10:4)

f)      Attack the enemy with the Sword of the Spirit. Use the Word of God as a sword against the forces of evil. Rebuke the devil with the Word of God. Jesus used this principle himself. Read Matthew 4:3-11. He constantly came against the devil with the famous words, “It is written.” Take up this powerful two-edged sword and thrust it right down the devil’s throat and watch him gasp and gag on the pure unadulterated Word of God. The Holy Spirit gets right into action when we use the Word of God as a sword against the devil’s attacks. This is why it is called “the sword of the Spirit.”

g)    Attack with prayer. “Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit.” (v. 18). Prayer is where so many of God’s people are weak. We must constantly lift up our hearts to God in prayer and praise. Prayer is a powerful weapon against the devil. A praying man is the devil’s worst nightmare.

Make your life a walking prayer meeting!

I don’t believe there is any valid excuse for all this cry-baby-blubbering, wimpy, the-devil-made-me-do-it, I-couldn’t help-myself stuff. God has promised a way of escape from every temptation. Have you memorized 1 Corinthians 10:13? “There has no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that you are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that you may be able to bear it.”

It is high time to cast off all this wimpy nonsense.

Let’s stand up and fight like real men.

Get ready for the next episode.
