The wimp cannot be a bold witness for Christ because he lacks solid reasons for a person needing Christ as Savior and Lord. He does not have convictions based on the Bible about heaven and hell.

There are many wimps standing in the pulpit these days who are afraid to preach anything that might get anyone even a little upset. No one should stand as a preacher or teacher who is not prepared to earnestly and lovingly confront the hearers on the absolutes of God’s Word. A man can only get solid truth-based convictions through a thorough grounding in God’s Word. He can only maintain biblical convictions by continuing to devour God’s Word. If we do not continue to keep up a strong regime of Bible study, meditation and prayer, we will soon give up ground. Compromise will gradually take over the solid convictions for which we once stood.

Forces, oppositions and enemies that use every opportunity to subtly erode our convictions surround us. The great image that Nebuchadnezzar saw was based upon feet mixed with iron and clay. (Daniel 2:33-35) These elements to do not compliment each other. It took the solid Stone, cut out without hands, to destroy this image which represented several major empires. The Stone struck the image at the base of compromise and broke the feet in pieces. This caused the entire image to fall. Compromise, no matter how beautiful it may look, will never be able to stand in the stormy test of life. Only solid convictions based on the rock of truth will stand.

Paul exhorts us in Ephesians 4:14 “that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness by which they lie in wait to deceive.” We notice in this Scripture that it is children who can so easily be tossed to and fro. Their ability to discern the truth in order to form solid convictions has not yet reached the stage of adulthood. Sadly to say, there are many adults who will never reach mature convictions because their diet of truth is too limited. The world we live in is in the most desperate need of men whose lives are rooted in Bible based convictions. Romans 8:19-22 speaks of how all creation is groaning for the time when the mature sons of God will be manifested. 

The wimp is like a jellyfish for he has no backbone. He has no value to the kingdom of God for he cannot be counted on to stand up for what is right.

Now is the time for the real men of God to stand up and be counted.
