Oh the deadly sin of it all. The angels must be screaming. It is ironical that we should be so taken up with our own daily little battles for our own comforts, while the battle of all battles for the eternal souls of the nations of the world goes begging. How blind can we be? The church, by and large, has failed to embrace the cross of Christ. It seems to me that if we do not embrace His cross, we will instead embrace our own wimpy, selfish lives. It is only through the laying down of our lives for the One who laid down His life for us that the great commission will be fulfilled.

But the wimp will not fight. He is afraid of danger. He lacks boldness. The western Christian church, by and large, is so taken up with its own moneymaking and self-seeking programs that it has lost its vision for war. We have become spiritually fat, flabby and wimpy. It is high time for us all to earnestly seek the Lord that He would pour out His Spirit upon us and cause us to deeply repent for our complacency and flippancy towards spiritual warfare for the souls of the nations.

In the light of all that Christ has done for us, how dare we act so indifferently toward the great commission He has given to us? Our hardened hearts need to be broken for the multitudes that are perishing. God will do this for us if we will earnestly seek Him for it. Oh how we need to pray that God will raise up fierce and mighty prayer warriors in our churches, men and women who will see themselves as real soldiers of the cross. We need believers who will willingly pack out the prayer rooms of our churches and pray down a fresh enduement of power from on high to set the captives free and bring light to those who sit in darkness.
