Page 1 of 2 I believe with my whole heart that if a man does not have a full time job, he has a full time job looking for one! There are usually lots of imperfect jobs around that perhaps do not pay so well but at least they can keep the wolf from the door. The real man of God will not sit at home looking for the perfect job day after day with no money coming in when there is a lesser job that can be done in the meantime. During the lunch break he can check out the Situations Vacant. He does not have to stay home to do this, nor should he. He may only get a minimum paying job but during the evening he can get his resumes ready to post out on his way to work the next morning. There are many, perhaps even multitudes who cannot make their mortgage payments because they have been laid off from their financially secure job. Why loose your house when you could at least meet this payment? I believe that some money is better than no money at all. God is bound to reward the diligent as we discussed in our last episode. From our text we understand that it is important that our hands find something to do. Doing nothing and being idle is a sure sign of wimpiness. The word “whatever” in the text means “everything”! Yes, everything! Even if you are sweeping the floor, cleaning the car or mowing the lawns, do it with the very best of your ability. We need to get into the habit of putting our best into all that we do.
