Who will rise up for me against the evildoers?

Who will stand up for me against the workers of iniquity?
Psalm 94:16

Who has eyes to see this tragedy of tragedies? Who can possibly comprehend such enormous destruction? Who can understand and fathom the depths of hell? Who can grasp its eternal destruction? All the worst tragedies of this life pale into insignificance in comparison to what the Bible calls the second death. Has not Christ paid the price in full to save every single one of this vast host descending into the pit? Has not His blood been shed to redeem the souls of all mankind? Yes, oh yes, a thousand times yes, I cry. But why such needless destruction? Why does the battle continue to rage? It seems wrong that multitudes continue on their deceived journey to the fires of eternal hell.

After triumphantly fighting the battle of all battles at the cross of Calvary and after His resurrection Jesus gave the church its great commission. “All authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth. “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.” (Matthew 28:18-20)

The church is the only legal authority on earth to break the deceptions, pronounce the good news of the gospel and set the captives free. What an awesome responsibility has been given to us. By our failure to grasp the serious implications, the questions we face are:

1.   Have we not become accessories to the fact of eternal soul mass destruction? Is not the fire brigade an assistant to the destruction of the building if it fails to try to put out the fire? Is not the doctor an assistant to the death of the patient if he fails to treat the patient with the only remedy that will save his life?

2.   Could it be true that multitudes are in hell at this moment because we did not, for whatever reason, inform them of Christ’s saving grace?
